Faith Issues Discussion Group

Three years ago several ELPC members discovered something they had in common—the desire to explore and discuss writings of the Church and of various Christian theologians over the centuries and, in so doing, to share with one another the personal triumphs and frustrations of the Christian spiritual life. From this was born the Faith Issues Discussion Group. Our readings have included The Book of Confessions (PC-USA), Christian Doctrine (Shirley Guthries), The Trivialization of God (Donald McCullough) and To Will God's Will (Ben C. Johnson).

This season we're reading Devotional Classics, edited by Richard Foster and James Bryan Smith. This collection of 52 writings includes authors such as St. Augustine, Teresa of Avila, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and John Wesley.

Our group has no "members"! All are welcome to come and join in the discussion or to just sit and listen. We meet on the fourth Sunday of each month during the school year from 4-6:30 pm in the Second Floor Parlor. A pizza supper is included! Copies of the book may be purchased in the Gifts of the Spirit bookstore. For more information, please call Heather Lawrence via the church office, 412-441-3800.
